Agadir in Winter: Sunshine, Weather and Things to Do
Agadir is Morocco's winter-sun destination par excellence: the mildest city in the country from December to February, with a long beach, seafront hotels and the waves of Taghazout minutes away. Here is what to expect.
Agadir in winter (December to February) is Morocco's mildest and sunniest city: about 20 to 22 °C by day in December and 20 to 21 °C in January, with nights around 8 to 13 °C, much less cold than Marrakech. The Atlantic stays cool for swimming (around 17 to 18 °C), but you can fully enjoy the beach, terraces and hotel pools, often heated in the larger properties. Winter is also high surf season in Taghazout, about 20 minutes away, with beginner lessons from around €30-40. Day trips include quad biking in the dunes, Paradise Valley, the Crocoparc and a day in Essaouira. Agadir has direct flights from many European cities, and the Christmas and February half-term holidays concentrate demand: book seafront hotels early.
