About the event
Founded in 2004, Timitar ("signs" in Tachelhit) has become one of Morocco’s largest festivals and a flag-bearer of Amazigh culture. It brings together leading Amazigh singers, Moroccan artists and international guests from Africa, the Arab world and the West.
Agadir, a sunny southern seaside resort, offers the ideal setting: long beach, marina, summer climate and a wide choice of hotels. The festival is a chance to combine free evening concerts with beach time during the day.
Traditionally held in early summer (July), Timitar followed an exceptional calendar for its 20th edition: it took place on 17–19 December 2025, alongside the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosted by Morocco. The 21st edition (2026) returns to its usual calendar: 23–25 July 2026, with a lineup announcing Najat Atabou, Ragheb Alama and Oudaden.
