Casablanca to Marrakech: Train, Bus or Transfer?
Many international flights land at Casablanca's Mohammed V airport, while most travellers want to get to Marrakech. The good news: the journey is simple, by train or by road. Here is how to choose.
The easiest way from Casablanca to Marrakech is the ONCF train: about 2 h 40 to 3 h 20 from Casa Voyageurs station, for around 98 MAD in 2nd class, with regular departures through the day. From Mohammed V airport, take the train from level -1 of Terminal 1 to Casa Voyageurs (35 to 45 minutes, about 50 MAD), then change for Marrakech; allow about 1.5 hours between landing and the next train. By road, count about 240 km and 2.5 to 3 hours on the motorway: the most comfortable option as a private transfer, especially at night, with luggage or with children, because it avoids the change. CTM and Supratours buses are a cheaper, slightly longer alternative. Marrakech is not served by the Al Boraq high-speed train, which links Casablanca with Tangier.
