Casablanca Airport Arrival: Train, Taxi and Transfers
Mohammed V (CMN) is Morocco's main international gateway, some thirty kilometres south-east of Casablanca. One feature changes everything compared with the country's other airports: an ONCF station sits directly on level -1 of Terminal 1. There's no taxi to haggle over and no shuttle to find — the train leaves from beneath your feet.
The ONCF train departs from level -1 of Terminal 1 and serves L'Oasis, Mers Sultan, Casa Voyageurs (the main hub) and Casa Port (central, near the old medina). Expect roughly 50 MAD in 2nd class for Casa Voyageurs and 60 MAD for Casa Port, a departure every 30 to 60 minutes from about 6am to 10-11pm, and 35 to 45 minutes of travel. For Rabat or Marrakech, change at Casa Voyageurs. The intermediate stops L'Oasis and Mers Sultan, in the southern districts, cost around 43 to 50 MAD. Once the last train has gone, a taxi is the fallback: agree the price before the suitcases go in, since night rates run higher. For a long-distance connection from Casa Voyageurs, leave about 1h30 between landing and the next departure. A rental car, meanwhile, only makes sense for heading onward to El Jadida or Oualidia afterwards, not for getting around Casablanca itself.
The ONCF train, the default option
This is rare in Morocco and worth stating plainly: at Mohammed V, the train is objectively the best choice for most arrivals. Go down to level -1 of Terminal 1, buy at the counter or a machine, and board.
Four stops structure the route:

The choice comes down to this: Casa Port if you're sleeping in Casablanca, Casa Voyageurs if you're continuing to Rabat, Tangier or Marrakech the same day.
Continuing to Rabat or Marrakech the same day
This is the use case many travellers underestimate: you can perfectly well land in Casablanca and sleep elsewhere that evening. The principle is to reach Casa Voyageurs on the airport train, then take a long-distance connection.
Two precautions: leave a comfortable margin between landing and the next train — immigration, baggage and waiting for the airport train easily eat 1h30 — and check the last departure of your onward service, especially if your flight arrives in the evening.

Taxi, transfer and car
The taxi keeps its use for late arrivals, once the train has stopped, or with a lot of luggage. As everywhere in Morocco, the rule is the same: agree the price before the suitcases go in, and expect higher night rates.
A booked transfer mainly makes sense for families, groups, or when your hotel is far from a train stop — Casablanca is a large, spread-out city, and the distance from Casa Port or Casa Voyageurs can still be significant.

Morocco's most straightforward airport route — provided you pick the right stop from the outset.
- Withdraw dirhams in the terminalThe dirham isn't available outside Morocco. Use an ATM before heading down to the station and ask for small notes for the ticket counter and taxis.
- Go down to level -1 of Terminal 1The ONCF station is built into the airport, on level -1 of Terminal 1. Follow the 'Train' or 'ONCF' signs from arrivals: no outside transfer is needed.
- Choose Casa Port or Casa VoyageursCasa Port if you're sleeping in Casablanca: it's the most central stop, near the old medina, for about 60 MAD in 2nd class. Casa Voyageurs if you're continuing to Rabat, Tangier or Marrakech, for about 50 MAD.
- Buy your ticket and check the day's timetableBuy at the counter or machine on level -1. Departures run roughly every 30 to 60 minutes, from about 6am to 10-11pm. Check the day's board: this is where a tight connection is won or lost.
- Plan the last leg to your hotelCasablanca is spread out: from Casa Port or Casa Voyageurs a petit taxi is often still needed. Agree the fare before getting in, or walk if your hotel sits within the old medina area.
