Renting a Car in Casablanca: CMN Airport, City and Road Trips
Casablanca is a good place to pick up a car if you land at Mohammed V Airport and continue to Rabat, Marrakech, Fes, Tangier or the coast. For Casablanca alone, a car is rarely needed.
Rent in Casablanca if you start a national loop or your hotel has parking. For a short city stay, use train, tram, taxis and ride-hailing. CMN airport is practical because you can reach the motorway without crossing the whole centre.
When should you rent in Casablanca?
A car is useful for a 7-day Morocco road trip, a 10-day Morocco itinerary or a northern route. It is much less useful if you stay in Casablanca and then take the train to Rabat or Marrakech.
Mohammed V Airport or downtown?
The airport avoids part of the city traffic and gives quick access to the motorway. Downtown can work if you stay in Anfa, Maarif or near Casa Voyageurs, but check parking and opening hours.
Plan the stop with things to do in Casablanca, where to stay in Casablanca and Casablanca activities.
Easy routes from Casablanca
- Rabat: fast motorway, possible as a day trip.
- El Jadida: easy Atlantic coast drive.
- Marrakech: doable by car, though the train is often more relaxing.
- Fes or Tangier: interesting if you link several stops.
