Agadir Airport Arrival: Getting to Agadir and Taghazout
Al Massira (AGA) sits markedly further from its city than Marrakech Menara does: about 24 to 25 km from central Agadir, or 30 to 40 minutes by road. That distance changes the maths — a taxi is no longer a 30 MAD formality, and public transport isn't always practical.
From Al Massira, expect about 200 MAD by taxi during the day into central Agadir (more at night, around 300 MAD), for a 35-minute journey. Bus 22 leaves from the main road a few minutes' walk outside the terminal, costs 30 to 50 MAD, but runs daytime only and takes about 50 minutes. An Alsa shuttle also exists, around 50 MAD. For Taghazout, budget for further still: a booked transfer or a car is the sensible answer. Bus 22 doesn't stop inside the terminal but on the main road, a few minutes' walk away. Many seafront hotels and Taghazout surf camps run their own transfer, sometimes included: ask before booking a separate ride. With more than one traveller, the 200 MAD taxi maths quickly matches a booked transfer, with less uncertainty. A rental car, meanwhile, stays useful on site for linking Paradise Valley, Imsouane and the surf spots.

The taxi, an openly sensible default
In Agadir, unlike Marrakech, the taxi is often the reasonable choice: the distance makes the bus slow and the route is straightforward. Reported fares hover around 200 MAD during the day and 300 MAD at night. As everywhere, agree the price before loading the bags.
The maths shifts with numbers: at 200 MAD, a couple or family quickly reaches booked-transfer territory, with less uncertainty attached.
Bus 22, worth knowing but with limits
Bus 22 is the budget option at 30-50 MAD. Three caveats before you rely on it: it leaves from the main road, a few minutes' walk outside the terminal — not from a stop inside the building; it runs daytime only; and it takes about 50 minutes, with stops.
With a backpack, in daylight, in good weather, it's a genuine bargain. With two suitcases, children, or an evening flight, it isn't.
The Taghazout catch
This is what many discover too late: Taghazout is not next to the airport. The surf village lies north of Agadir, therefore beyond the city centre relative to Al Massira. Bus 22 won't take you there, and a taxi haggled on the spot for a long run gets expensive.
